  1. 500gm Moong chilka daal
  2. 1/2 Tablespoon finely chopped fresh ginger
  3. 1/2 Teaspoon red chilli powder
  4. 1/2 Tablespoon finely chopped fresh green chilli
  5. A Pinch of asafoetida(Hing)
  6. 1 Tablespoon finely chopped fresh coriander
  7. Salt as required
  8. Oil for deep frying


  1. Clean, wash and soak the moong dal in enough water for a minimum of 5 hour.
  2. Wash the soaked dal and remove its peels
  3. Now thick grind the moong dal.
  4. Add finely chopped fresh ginger, red chilli powder, finely chopped fresh green chilli, a pinch of asafoetida(Hing), finely chopped fresh coriander and salt as required and mix it well.
  5. Heat oil for deep frying in a kadai or pan.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the batter in medium hot oil.
  7. Fry the moong dal pakoras till crisp and golden
  8. Drain the moong dal bhajiya on paper napkins to remove excess oil.
  9. Serve the moong dal pakoras hot with coriander chutney.
